December 13, 2018Summer Deep Sea Fishing in Fort Lauderdale.
It’s Summer in South Florida and the fishing is Hot!
Trolling has been the most productive style of fishing recently, mainly for King Fish and Bonitas. On the norm, the seas have been relatively calm. The Mahi Mahi have finally settled in and the Sharks are in full force. Here is a photo from a July Mahi Trip.
If you are interested in a Mahi Mahi Charter I would recommend the 8 Hour Charter . Our 8- Hour Charter leaves the Fort Lauderdale dock at either 7 or 8 am. This gives us more time to search for debris, weed-lines, and or birds. We have been finding the Mahi 10-15 miles offshore, most of the fish are being found on the weed lines around 10 miles off the coast.
Let’s talk about Shark Fishing-
The Fort Lauderdale shark fishing has been amazing this summer, hooking up to several different species in the last 2 months. Here are a few we have catching, Greater Hammerhead, Scallop Hammerhead, Bull-shark, Tiger Shark, Sanbar Shark, Sandusky, and Mako Shark. Here are a few photos from Shark Week. On this week we had many people that inquired to target sharks in honor of this Shark Holiday.

We love to have our guests request certain types of charters such as our Mahi-Mahi, Grouper, or even our Fort Lauderdale Shark charters. On the Good Hit our policy is catch and release for all sharks. The sustainability of the ocean stock is of the utmost importance and we now use only use circle hooks to preserve the life of all sharks. These fish are making a huge come back because most of our sharks are federally protected.
