August 8, 2024Fort Lauderdale Fall Frenzy: A Sight Fishing Paradise
September 19, 2024September has been an absolute scorcher so far for fishing in South Florida! The bite has been relentless, with a variety of species falling for our anglers’ lines. From the reefs to the open ocean, we’ve been experiencing some truly epic fishing.
Barracuda Bonanza: The 2nd and 3rd reefs have been a barracuda angler’s dream. These feisty fish have been hitting hard on everything from live bait to artificial lures. It’s been a non-stop show of acrobatic jumps and powerful runs.
Kingfish on Fire: Kingfish have been consistently biting, both on the troll and with live bait on the kite. Ballyhoo and goggle eyes have been the top producers, but don’t be afraid to experiment. These tasty fish are putting up a great fight and are delicious on the grill.
Goliath Grouper Surge: We’ve been seeing more Goliath Grouper than ever before on the shipwrecks. It’s been a thrill to catch and release these iconic fish, and it’s clear that their population is thriving. Even the local divers have been reporting increased sightings.
Pelagic Prowl: As the summer winds down, sailfish and mahi are starting to push towards the shallower reefs. These fast-moving predators are chasing schools of ballyhoo and mullet, creating some unforgettable moments for our anglers. For me, late summer and fall are the absolute prime time to fish in South Florida. Watching sailfish and mahi chase bait on the surface is an experience you’ll never forget.
