🎣 Good Hit Sport Fishing Report: December is Heating Up!
December 11, 2025The fishing in Fort Lauderdale has been absolutely electric lately! We’ve been running back-to-back 4-hour charters, and it just goes to show that you don’t need an all-day trip to land a trophy of a lifetime. This week, the “short” trips produced some of the biggest highlights of the season so far.
The Reef Beast: Giant Cubera Snapper
On our first featured 4-hour trip, we headed out to the local wrecks to see if anyone was home. We were targeting some big bottom fish, and it didn’t take long for the heavy tackle to get tested. Something absolutely hammered the bait and tried to retreat straight back into the structure.
After a back-breaking battle of “tug-of-war,” we finally turned the fish’s head. When it hit the surface, the whole boat erupted—a HUGE Cubera Snapper. These “Red Snappers on steroids” are known for their massive canine teeth and raw power. Landing a beast of this size on a half-day charter is a huge win for our anglers and a testament to being in the right spot at the right time.
Blue Water Surprise: The White Marlin
Just a couple of days later, we were back out on another 4-hour morning run. The water was a beautiful deep blue, and the current was pushing just right. We set the spread for some trolling action, hoping for some Kingfish or Mahi, but the ocean had something else in store.
One of the long lines snapped out of the rigger, and a lit-up billfish started dancing across the surface! After a high-speed chase and some incredible acrobatics, we brought a beautiful White Marlin alongside the boat. These are world-class pelagic fish, and seeing one inshore like this is always a special treat. We got the release, and the fish swam away healthy to fight another day.
The 4-Hour Advantage
Whether we are dropping on deep-water wrecks for monsters or trolling the edge for billfish, the action is only minutes away from the dock here in Fort Lauderdale. These two trips prove that even if you only have a few hours to spare, Good Hit Sport Fishing can put you on the fish!
