Catching Sailfish, Dolphin, Swordfish, and King Mackerel
The past couple of weeks have been pretty eventful, the Good Hit has been catching, Sailfish, Dolphin, Swordfish, and King Mackerel.
Big Dolphins on the Reefs of Fort Lauderdale
We have found big Dolphin on the second and third reefs, anywhere from 50 – 1000 feet. We attract them by showering Ballyhoo and blowing up Mullet close to shore, and they feed around any debris offshore.
This has been the best year for catching Dolphin that I have seen in a long time, and catching your limit of this popular fish is now actualiy an easy task.
Consistent Sailfish in November
Sailfish have been pretty consistent from 90 feet-200 feet, using live goggle eyes and mullet on the kite. Our best day in November we caught 3 Sailfish on the kite before 11 a.m., and all fish were caught on live mullet.
We have seen many juvenile Sailfish, a sign that the bigger breeder Sailfish on the way.
Kite fishing will only get better from now until the end of March. If you happen to make it out on the Good Hit, I recommend purchasing some live goggle eyes for doing some kite fishing.
Sword-fishing in November is always good – night or day – and we have been catching Swordfish ranging from 50-300 lbs.
We fish directly off of the coast of Fort Lauderdale, around 16 miles out and usually in water 1200 – 1600 feet.
On our rare off times we fish for Swordfish commercially, so Sword-fishing isn’t just our specialty, it’s our passion.
