As fall begins the fishing begins to pick up, as we begin to get busy so does the fishing. The Mahi Mahi continues to be productive offshore and on the reef, using live finger mullet and or pilchards for bait.

Fishing for Dolphin we like to use light tackle spinning gear which is most effective for schools of fish.

In October we also got an early push of sailfish, which were most productive fishing live ballyhoo. The best piece of equipment for this tatic is the 20lb spinning reel.  I prefer Penn spin fisher  8500, with hundred of yards of line incase you hook a big one.

In the fall  many days of no to little amount of wind, kite fishing can be very slow. Slow trolling live bait can usually be the ticket. Fishing light tackle, you can not beat the action of hooking a sailfish on a spinning rod.

You also have to have patiences and finesse. Our leader size is 40lb floro carbon which is surprising strong and durable. With our center console, we can point then bow towards the fish, which will make the battle process more efficient. When you combine proper equipment and a good boat handling skills, anything can be caught on light tackle.
