Good Hit Sport Fishing Report
September 16, 2026October Report & The Fall Mullet Blitz
The Coastal Show: The Annual Mullet Run is On!
If you want to see South Florida coastal waters come alive, October is the absolute prime time. The annual mullet run is in full swing, turning the beaches, inlets, and nearshore waters into a chaotic feeding ground.
- The Action: Massive schools of silver mullet are pushing down the coast, and they aren’t traveling alone.
- The Video Breakdown: (Insert Video Link Here) Check out the attached clip to see just how thick these bait pods are right now and the explosive surface strikes happening the second a predator moves in.
- The Main Events: Tarpon, monster snook, and aggressive jack crevalle are shadowing the schools tightly. If you are dropping a live finger mullet or throwing topwater plugs along the edges of these schools, expect an absolute strike-fest.
Offshore Highlights: Feathers, Fins, and a Young Angler’s Shark Fight
While the beaches are boiling with bait, the offshore and nearshore grounds have been dishing out a fantastic mix of action for our anglers:
- Multiple Sailfish: The sailfish are starting to show up more consistently as the water begins its seasonal transition. We have had some incredible days working the outer edges and flying kites, resulting in multiple hook-ups and banner releases.
- Mahi-Mahi: The mahi action has kept us moving, requiring a bit of a run out past the deeper weed lines and floating debris, but the search is paying off with some great quality fish hitting the deck.
- The Kid’s Shark Battle: Hands down, the highlight of the week went to our youngest angler on board, who strapped into a serious fight and managed to conquer a hard-pulling shark! There is nothing quite like watching a kid match wits with an apex predator and bring it boat-side with a huge smile.
